The Challenge Keep On Track Part 1 –  You Can Do It !!

The Challenge Keep on track – you can do it!

It wasn’t so long ago we welcomed 2018 !! with amazing firework displays that adorned the skylines of many nations as celebrations of a new beginning, full of anticipation and great expectation for the year ahead. Where has the time gone? the year has just begun we are now fast approaching March nearly 3 months into the year…Panic !! no  don’t panic just planning.

There is just something about “new beginnings” a new start, new job,new house, car etc. usually  gets us all enthusiastic and excited. Every new year  some people will signify this by making new year’s resolutions, whilst others will have projects, goals that they want to achieve. These are usually list with great ideas, and things we would like to accomplish, at this stage we are usually on fire and motivated to get things started, which is all a good sign.

However,we often find ourselves slowly slipping away and we begin to lose focus on our goals and task at hand. We become demotivated, albeit not intentionally, but as the cares of the world sway us from one end of the spectrum to the other, and the effect of the realities of our daily living, its easy to be distracted. At times  it can also cause one to not pursue wholeheartedly the vision, goals and plans they set out to do or accomplish.

I tend to set my self-short term and long terms goals and things I want to achieve for the year. I try not to make them too elaborate but actual things I want to do or accomplish. These can range from things to do in my home,a place I would love to visit ,and sometimes just  things I really want to try out,it might be an attitude I need to work on say  for e.g.I want to be more thoughtful, caring, giving  etc.. .but the truth is that you make your list as you desire there is no prescriptive list. Everyone’s list is different, you set your goals, at the end of the day you are responsible for making them happen.

So what next ?did you set yourself any goals for the year? if yes STOP and do a quick stock take, are you on track to achieving your goals? if your answer is No and you haven’t set yourself any goals no need to worry, It is never too late to set yourself goals should you wish to. Remember goal setting does not have to be onerous. A goal could be e.g Learning a new skill;like learning to play an instrument.or riding a bicycle or learning to swim. On the other hand, it could be something as serious as getting out of “Debt”or building,a conservatory, or loft conversion, you choose what you want, it is your goal.  Lets get started !! The Challenge Keep On Track Part 2 – You Can Do It !!

  1. This was an excellent article. I love the way you captured the problem of setting goals, but also the practical advise for achieving them,

Thank you very much, it has definetely prompted me to revisit the goals I set this year and to see whether I have stayed on track!

  2. Your post on goal setting (learn to swim) ? The post is timely its so true with March almost upon us before you know it we are half way through the year. So a good time to evaluate.
I knew you would be amazing at this!
Keep up the good work xxx
