Overcoming Fear Part 3-Backdrop Story
My Fear Of Driving – Backdrop
I started learning to drive at the age of 17, but I did not take my driving test, why? I really do not know. So the years went by and I comfortably shelved the idea of driving.Who needs the stress, too much traffic (Wahala – “Chaos”) and besides living in London is great, good public transport so I did not see the need to prioritise the idea.Well fast forward almost 20 years later, I still couldn’t drive! I knew that once I got out of that car, that was it. I had NO intention of doing any further lessons. It was “hasta la vista” instructor. For me that was the beginning of my struggle and my battle with the “fear of driving. Read more in my next post.Overcoming Fear – Part 4 Mind Battle
Having a reference point and identifying where the source of my fear was important, it helped in my thinking and recovery.
