A YEAR OF ABUNDANCE
RAHIYA Welcomes you to a brand new year, 2019. I want to take this opportunity of thanking all my audience, who have taken their time to read the blogs, some who left comment, and those who have subscribed to my blog page, or simply visited the site I appreciate you all.
I am looking forward to and praying for a year of fruitfulness, abundance, great expectations, growth open doors, new ideas, with the Lord guidance and direction leading us through this year.
Whatever you do make every moment count this year!! In all things give praise and glory to God Almighty.
I have decided to start of this year with a slightly different take, usually the first month of the new year is usually centred around resetting your goals , refresh, new beginnings. This year I would like to start of my blog series with this three letter word, it’s a verb and requires action.
We can reset goals ,refresh and have a list as long as of what we want to accomplish, but unless we act upon these goals and ideas nothing will blossom.
ASK?
Three letter word that can link you to tremendous blessings, open doors and knowledge, but why is it that we simply don’t like to or want to. In actuality there really is no harm in doing so. I have seen and I have also been guilty of this in the past. As I grew older and perhaps a bit “wiser” I realise that I am at a great advantage if I do so and Ask rather than be in silence and I am none the wiser.
People get lost all the time whether driving cycling or walking, believe you me even with “Sat Nav “. You may, like me been a culprit at some point, instead of seeking help for direction, we pretend as if were not lost! You will think they we would ask for direction right? you couldn’t be so wrong!
This word plays such an important part in everyday life, it’s more of an action word, because it requires you to do something. However, for reasons unknown, we simply don’t want to Ask. This pattern of not asking can also affect our growth at school, in the work-place, in families and just in everyday life. Children are taught at an early age to learn how to ask.
Please pause a minute and reflect how many times you may have missed out because you simply didn’t ask. Hmm yep my list is growing. Below are some of the reasons I could remember of why I didn’t want to ask when I should have:
- I thought I was making a fool of myself especially in classroom, colleague or peers setting
- I felt shy and embarrassed to ask
- I felt that my request would not have been answered
- I was prideful and didn’t want to ask
- Disappointment of a No
Something really changed in me as time went by, I got a better insight that actually, asking was for my benefit, you learn new things every day and there is nothing wrong in asking, if you are unsure? don’t suffer in silence like I did, ask if you don’t understand, ask if you need assistance, what could be the worst? Its either they say yes.
God really wants us
to ask
As I was having my devotion, and reading along in Matthew, I have read this
scripture many times but suddenly I got a revelation like never! I got it God wants
us to Ask Him. In Matthew 8 :28-34 story of the two demon-possessed men.
The demons recognised Jesus and they referred to Jesus by His name. wow!! if the Demons could recognise Jesus, but not
only that they begged and asked Jesus to do something for them, and
astonishingly Jesus granted their request…albeit they ended up dying.
The focus for me was the audacity and boldness of the demon possessed men, in their need they just Asked Jesus for what they wanted. for me, it showed me the compassion of Jesus. He could have told them were to go, but Jesus didn’t. He honoured their request.
Jesus is a loving God, so an encouragement for all is that
we should come with boldness with our request and ASK remember He already said Ask
and you shall receive. So don’t complain
if you’re not asking.
Challenge

got all we want and all we need, God His really got it “don’t underestimate Him,
our ASK is not too big that He cannot handle try Him.
