Vantage Points -What do you see
Perspective Matters
What do you see? two people can look at the same object but come up with completely different descriptions? why is that possible because they viewed the object from two different perspective. We all don’t see things the same. The way we see things most times is dependent on which angle or view point we are looking at or from?In other words our perception is influenced by our current position, or vantage point.
Up and away I enjoy travelling and I have always being fascinated by the rapid transformation of our perspective vision, which usually takes place in a matter of minute. Isn’t it amazing that no sooner we are up and away and air borne, that you begin to see things from a different perspective. I soon realised that in most cases the things that looked big whilst on the ground e.g Big Monument ,even the airport, suddenly become very distant, minute, and eventually they disappear, and its not that these big monuments are not there, but as our vantage point changed, we were able to see them from a different perspective.
The higher up you go, you begin to see things from a different perspective. On a trip to Toronto, in Canada, I had the opportunity to visit CNtower which by the way is a must see if you ever visit Toronto. I must say as much as I had explored the city walking, and going on a bus tour, nothing could compare to the awesome scenic view of the city, that captivated me, as I walked around taking pictures of course. The city could be seen from every angle, it is quite a spectacular view. I was able to admire the beauty of the city, simply by the vantage point I was positioned in at the top of the CN Tower.
I often like to remind myself that though I may experience difficulties ,problems, chaos and just the dealing with the issues of daily living, that I do not allow myself to be overwhelmed. Even though my problems may seem like a mountain and real in its nature. I realised that just as the monuments became smaller objects the higher the plane went, I began to magnify God Higher above my situations, because I understood that the higher God was lifted above, the smaller my problems became. I began to see things from God’s perspective,He doesn’t want us to be anxious or worried.
Self Check whats my perspective am I currently positioned where I need to be? say for e.g at home, in school, at work ,in my family, on a given situation you may currently need to address? whats my vantage point on these areas. Am I responding and treating others based on my current perspective I have of them?. Sometimes we think we know it all and we based our actions and make conclusions, assumptions based ,on the information we may currently have. We should be very cautious with our dealings with each other as we may only have partial sight of the full picture.
Value your position if you have been strategically placed with access to highly confidential information which is at your liberty, you must not misuse your position for false gain, blackmail or manipulation, as some would inevitable try to explore.
The Best View Is The Heavenly Perspective:
Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are everywhere keeping watch on the wicked and the good
If we marvel at the view of the Earth from space, can you fathom the the view that God can see. God sits alone on His throne, He has the ultimate Vantage Point of the whole world. He sees all and knows all ,nothing is obscure or skewed, or hidden from His sight. God doesn’t sit on His throne, with the aim of punishing, but rather, with an out stretched hand, He chooses to guide us through His word, and servants whom He has called, with the hope of drawing us closer to Him.
I think that seeing things through God’s perspective is always the best view, it gives us hope, fulfilment, satisfaction, peace, expectation, and keeps you from trouble and many more blessings. Having a godly perspective will truly transform our lives and we in turn can hopefully have an impact in the world around us.
Reflection: Do a quick scan have you being seeing things through the right perspective ? if yes then continue to do so. If your answer is no what would you do differently?
Lets us aspire to see things from a Heavenly perspective as God’s vision is always clearer and better than ours.
