Love is in the air – Part 3 Love On Solid Rock
Love on the Solid Rock
Love cannot be built-in a day, Love needs to be invested in, like a seed is planted and tendered so Love must be nurtured if it is to grow and blossom . Every day we make a choice to Love or not to Love, so here’s the thing, Valentines Day will breeze in and breeze out, eventually the petals from the flowers we once cherished will fall and wither away, the chocolates, the romantic meals, all consumed with no evidence of it ever being present. Whilst all that was good and pleasurable they were all temporary. Hold on to the memories if they are of value to you, but do not quantify or define your love based on a just a day.
As a child growing up, I had the privileged of visiting building sites and watched the foundation of houses being built. I did not understand that much then, but I recall there was so much emphasis on ensuring that foundation of the building was done right, now I know why. I am no expert, but the foundation structure is the most important part of any building structure on which the house is built on.
So we need to get it right from the onset, which brings me to this, for Love to sustain and have longevity we must build our relationship on a strong foundation, for it not to crumble at the slightest storm, so we invest in the roots and foundations of our relationships.
It’s always so good to hear people celebrating milestones ,anniversaries in marriage, and also companies who have been in business for a long time, there is something powerful in having a good foundation.Do not get me wrong, it does not mean you might not face problems or set backs or dare I say failures.Often building on the solid foundation are more likely to stand even in the most difficult times or storms.
One of the scriptures on Love that I found encouraging is in Romans 12:9-10 NIV “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
I love the scripture above because its applicable and having these in place will help keep our relationships firmly on a solid foundation, as well as a relationship built on truth, sincerity, forgiveness, and a whole lot of commitment, and most importantly prayers.
Go ahead and Love, embrace it, being in love is beautiful, enjoy and cherish your loved ones, only be wise and build your relationships on a solid foundation.
I am grateful for Love, and in particular God’s love toward me and the many experiences I have had through Love. Grateful For Love
Are your relationships built on a strong foundation? can the foundations be strengthened?
