Finding Your Purpose, Fulfilling Destiny
Yes you have a purpose in life
Finding our purpose and fulfilling destiny can be a journey. As long as you are available, I believe God can use you. There will always be a need for kingdom builders. How, when and where you will be instrumental that you will have to find out as you seek the Lord .
Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life is? don’t worry many of us have been seek God over the years. Some have prayed and have been on the quest trying to find out what their calling is and true purpose in life
To be quite honest, in my case for e.g it wasnt really after I became a committed Christian, that I can truly say I felt a slight shift in thinking and began to believe that there was much more to life, than the one I’d been living, where life was doing the same mundane things. There was more to offer and become.
Understanding the uniqueness of each person ,was much more appreciated. knowing every individual has been created with their own purpose. Some find their purpose and go on to fulfil great destiny’s. On the other hand, others are still on the quest . None the less we can all make a difference it doesn’t matter how small or insignificant it may seem.
Intentional Creator
Consider with me, the world was formed in 7 days, we already see the beauty and wonders of the world ..We were created with and for a purpose.
God Is Intentional in all He does, the sun ️ and Moon were created to give light, the list goes on…..so if God can create the vegetation and animals with purpose, how much more His children made in His image. God created each being in His image with a plan and purpose on planet earth. Truly the God of creation.
Dispelling the lies
Dispelling the Myth and lies is an absolute necessities.
The reason why this is significant is In order to fulfil our purpose and calling,we need to be aware and dispel some myths that have caused some to believing in the lies.
and in turn has hindered us from taking the first step on our pathway to destiny. So if we can shift our thinking that’s a good place to start don’t you think ? I have below a few myths that you can check out:
We cannot be used by God because of our past this is so not true
I don’t have the right accent or educational background
We cannot be used by God because you are too young or too old
You need to be in front line ministry to be an effective vessel for God
You don’t need to be married to be a kingdom builder
Read along, lets explore this further;
For the mature believer – I want you to remember age is a number and in God’s kingdom we know He is not phased by age.
I consider myself in this category. We have so much to offer e.g. in our exampleship, mentoring, wisdom, gifts and there is so much you can offer if you want.
The truth remains the real question is will you make yourself available? or will we use the lies and myths as an excuse not to pursue your purpose.
Be encouraged, Abraham was 75 when he was called by God to leave his homeland of cannon.
For the young adults, please don’t let others, friends, peer pressure or family discourage you because of your age. Like above we know that God is not phased by age (David was a youth when He was anointed)
Jeremiah was called by God at a young age Jeremiah 1:7 “Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.”
Lets explore, one would think there is a checklist that needs to be completed by anyone desiring to pursue their God given destiny, and as sad as it may look, there are many believers who don’t fulfil their purpose or calling because they think the qualification metrics being used in the world applies in the kingdom and this is not the case I think to set the scene please read 1st Corinthians 1:27
Not Measuring Up
Another issue is through the eyes of man, often perceived as not measuring up to a certain spiritual barometer, or feel you are not spiritual enough, using “church lingo” you then feel disqualified and don’t think you are in chosen select that has all their ducks in a row.
Let me just remind you of Rahab and David (Rahab the harlot found herself in the lineage of Christ now how about that, she would have been the least to be considered to be in the lineage of Christ.
Let’s look at David, did not the bible say Acts 13:22 “And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king ;to whom also he gave a testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.”
We also know the account in 2 Samuel 11 (read it for context) what transpired between David and Bathsheba the adultery, betrayal, death, but we thank God for his mercies and the gift of His restoration. In spite of all that transpired David was used by God.
Speech and Language Barriers
I don’t have the right accent or I can’t speak well, or I am not educated to a certain standard, lack of confidence to speak. Intimidation fear no one will listen to me and take any interest in what I have to say
Here’s the thing, Moses had speech problems and God still used him. Read exodus 4:10 (for context) But Moses said to the LORD, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.
Moses was trying to talk himself out of destiny, he even told the Lord to please send someone else, imagine (Exodus 4:13) you will find out that people still do this today because of the lies, myths we have of the perceived qualifications one must have to be used by God.
God calls us to Himself and for His own purpose that we can be the vessels He can use to work through.
God does not call married people or single people. He calls you, and I, us (an Individual) .Don’t fall into the myth believing you need to be married to be used by God. Would you pass a great ministry just because you are waiting on a spouse?
Believing theses lies has the tendency to hijack the blessing that God has for you
They can cause us to :
Doubt
Be Fearful
Self-awareness of perceived flaws
Delay and distraction tactics
Procrastinate and end up being ineffective
So what next, I think, in order to move into the arena and purpose of our lives we need to take dominion and walk in God’s divine destiny for our lives in confidence knowing that no matter what part you play in the body your contribution is important. So from Children’s Ministry, Cleaning, Parking, Sound, Choir, Prayer you name it your function contributes to the whole body of Christ functioning 100%.
Take Dominion and Enter your Destiny
Believe that God created you with a purpose and for a purpose
Seek your purpose or calling if you don’t already know it (sometimes others might see it other times you have to seek it from God)
When you know your calling /purpose you need to cultivate it, you may have to work on it a bit but invest time
Do your research and take a leap of faith and trust God to help you walk in your purpose
Align yourself with tight minded people
(proverbs 27:17) Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another
you can have all the faith and do all the above but if you take no action your calling and purpose will lay dormant until you bring it to life
James 2:17. “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
Outlined in this post are some key pointers which I hope you found useful, as well as understanding the creative genius and uniqueness of God. Awareness of the uniqueness of each persons calling and path in life is specific.
Most importantly being spiritually discerned to the lies and myth that seem subtle but has the ability of stealing your destiny by mentally de stabilizing us even before we embark on this journey
If God has called you be rest assured, that if you step out in faith , trusting in His ways, God will do His part and you will fulfil the destiny He has for your life
The Gifts and the Calling of God are Irrevocable” (Romans 11:29)
